My name is Shona Phimister and I have been teaching for over 8 years. I have worked with some of the most difficult students, as I have worked in a alternative provision with young people that are either permanently or temporarily excluded from mainstream school.

 

I have taught a variety of subjects including English, Maths, Science, ICT, Media, Art, Dance and physical theatre.

 

I have taught many types of specification including BTEC, Skilled for Life, NCFE certificates, GCSE and Functional Skills.

 

Over the past few years, the government has made many changes to education which has resulted in a disvalue in vocational subjects. I believe that vocational Subjects are the most important of all qualifications, as it means people can actually do the job, rather than just talk about a job.

My aim is to create online vocational courses for people of all ages to build confidence in areas they feel weak in.
